The Brief
A membership platform for Mongolian creators — recurring memberships, tier-gated content, and an automated money loop that runs from a supporter's card to the creator's bank account.
Mongolian creators had no way to earn steady, recurring income from their own audience. Patreon and its peers do not reach Mongolian cards, banks or tax rules, and the local alternative was one-off donations that stop the moment a stream ends. The hard part was never the pages — it was the money: recurring billing in tugrik, eBarimt receipts, income-tax withholding, bank payouts, and doing all of it without holding anyone else's funds, which in Mongolia requires a payment licence.
What We Did
We built it as our own product, end to end — Next.js 16 and React 19 over Prisma and PostgreSQL, Mongolian-first, shipped as a self-contained Docker stack behind Caddy. The money model was settled before the code: we act as principal, selling memberships as our revenue and paying creators a revenue share, so no supporter funds are ever held. Every payment provider sits behind a single interface, routed through Moneta, our in-house payment hub.
Creators publish a page with membership tiers and post to their supporters — text, images, native video, polls — with each post gated by tier. Supporters pay by card auto-renewal or qPay and are billed on their own anniversary date. Behind that runs an append-only double-entry ledger that splits every charge into commission and creator revenue-share, issues eBarimt receipts, withholds 10% where the creator is not tax-registered, and settles payouts through the Khan Bank Corporate Gateway. It also links to DonAlert, our streaming product, so a new membership can appear live on the creator's stream.
- Recurring memberships in tugrik — card auto-renewal plus qPay, billed on each supporter's own anniversary date
- Append-only double-entry ledger splitting every charge into commission and creator revenue-share
- Mongolian tax compliance built into the product: eBarimt receipts and 10% withholding for unregistered creators
- Automated bank payouts through the Khan Bank Corporate Gateway, gated by identity and phone verification
- Tier-gated posts with native video, images and polls, plus comments and likes
- Structured as principal and revenue-share — no supporter funds held, so no payment licence is needed
- Ships itself: every push runs the tests, builds the image and deploys behind a health check with automatic rollback
Nine directions, one product
Before the first line of product code, we designed it as pictures: three creator-page directions, three refinements of the layout that survived, then three ways of telling the homepage story. “Sunset glow” was approved and is live today; the rest are preserved here.

Softer and near-white, warmth carried by the gradient alone — the direction that became the live design system.
Round 2 · Duotone
Plum and tangerine, the most graphic of the three finalists.
