01
The challenge
ECO-25 was conceived as a Class-A office tower with energy performance as its headline promise. Intense solar exposure and Ulaanbaatar's extreme climate demanded an envelope that could solve summer solar gain and winter heat loss at once.
02
Our solution
We specified the Stac Bond aluminium composite high-insulation curtain-wall system and fully glazed the envelope with triple-glazed low-E units. The tower's signature white ribbon is not only sculptural — it doubles as external solar shading, easing the load on the glazed surfaces.
03
The plan
Working with the façade engineers, we ran thermal modelling and developed an installation sequence that integrated the ribbon feature into the structural grid. The plan staged the build floor-by-floor, bottom-up, with each level signed off before the next.
04
Implementation
All 11,200 m² of envelope was installed on schedule, cutting energy use by 42% against the baseline model. The ribbon feature turned the building into a recognisable point on the city skyline.
